Castletown Lecture 3: Karol Mullaney-Dignam, 'Social life at Castletown in the late 18th century'

The third lecture in the Castletown Winter Lecture Series 2011-2012 takes place at Castletown on Wednesday 7 December 2011 at 8.00pm.

The lecture entitled ‘The residence of true Irish hospitality: social life at Castletown in the late 18th century’ will be delivered by Dr Karol Mullaney-Dignam. Karol is an IRCHSS Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellow at NUI Maynooth where she is conducting research under the auspices of the Department of History and the Department of Music. As part of this event, Karol's latest publication Music and dancing at Castletown, Co. Kildare, 1759-1821 will be launched.

The lecture will be held in the newly restored East Wing/Stable Wing at Castletown. Vehicle access to the house is via Exit 6, Celbridge West N4/M4. Parking in the Stable Wing Courtyard.

PLEASE NOTE: Admission is free and no booking is required but seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Patrons are requested to be seated by 7.50pm. Join us for tea/coffee after the lecture.
